My Favorite Things--New and Improved? You've got my attention!

Alright, I’ll admit it; I’ve never seen a “new and improved” product I didn’t want to try. Make it a “system” and I’ve swallowed the hook  I am running out of ways to justify my dog product purchases to my husband, so I’ve found a new way to explain why I need ANOTHER tool. “Listen dear husband of mine, the people need me. How can I share new and exciting things with people if I haven't tried them first?!”

This brings me to the first installment of “My Favorite Things”. In this issue I’d like to share with you the absolute best tool for keeping our big dog nails carefully manicured. The Dremel Micro 8050  Dremel describes this unit as “Brilliantly powerful, the Dremel Micro is the perfect combination of size, ergonomics, and power that make it the ultimate tool for both precise and light duty DIY tasks  Designed to be held between the thumb and forefinger like a pencil, the Dremel Micro allows a grip that is close to the work-piece for superior maneuverability and control. To illuminate projects, the Dremel Micro has LED lights built uniquely into the nose cap to aid in vision and accuracy. The Dremel Micro features lights that indicate battery level, Li-on battery technology, and a docking station that automatically stops charging when the batteries have reached capacity.”

What I love, first and foremost about this tool is the LED lights built into the nose cap. This feature very nicely lights up my dog’s nail so I can clearly see the quick  Another great feature is the size of the unit. It is easy to maintain a hold on while I grind down the nail. There is a variable speed that I can adjust as needed which I found was helpful when getting my dog used to the noise and feel of his nails being filed. The unit is cordless and holds a charge through at least three sets of big dog nails. I suspect the unit has the capacity for the fourth and fifth dog, but I cannot attest to that as I myself do not have that capacity!

As we all know, appropriately trimmed nails are of utmost importance in keeping our big dog feet healthy. If you’re looking for a new tool to help you make that task a little easier, I recommend the Dremel Micro 8050 which you can find online or at many of your big box stores.
